The annual London Permaculture Festival is a one day grassroots event that attracts around 700 people who come to learn about how the ethical design science of permaculture can offer sustainable, regenerative green solutions to different areas of modern life.

The London Permaculture Festival is held in the beautiful Arts & Crafts building of Cecil Sharp House, Camden, London. Come along for workshops (intro and advanced), ‘how-to’ sessions, films, a stalls market and a ‘families at the festival’ zone. Enjoy discussions, networking and learning about creative solutions for a sustainable, healthy future. Browse the stalls market and enjoy the award-winning permaculture garden that demonstrates edible, sustainable and wildlife-friendly gardening surrounding Cecil Sharp House.

This talk demonstrates how to grow your own food (and other plants) whatever space you have, using regenerative gardening methods. Stephanie explains different ways to create your no dig garden depending on resources, location and budget, and why no dig gardening is crucial for soil, planet and our health. It will take place at 1.50pm in the Trefusis room at Cecil Sharpe House.

Tickets for the festival cost £20 • Under 18s free • Early bird £15 tickets during May only! • A limited number of concession tickets are available online (£8)

Stephanie Hafferty . Credit: London Permaculture FestivalStephanie Hafferty is an award winning organic garden and food writer, speaker, edible garden designer and small scale homesteader. A leading expert in no dig gardening Stephanie inspires people to grow their own food whatever size plot. She has been growing edibles for over 30 years and worked as a no dig kitchen gardener for 15 years in market gardens, private estates and for restaurants. In 2021 she project managed and co-designed the RHS No Dig Allotment Demonstration Garden at RHS Hampton Court Garden Festival.

Stephanie is currently setting up a new half acre homestead in West Wales using no dig permaculture methods. She teaches sustainable gardening, cooking and homesteading skills nationally, internationally and from her homestead in rural Ceredigion.

Stephanie demonstrates how to grow year round using climate friendly organic no dig methods for abundant harvests and fewer weeds, working harmoniously with wildlife, and what to do with your harvests, from seasonal meals to preserving, homemade body, home and garden care, remedies and natural dyes. Naturally thrifty, Stephanie learned how to grow food year round whilst raising her family mostly as a single mum, on a very tight budget.
