Reports Sustain

Published: Thursday 30 May 2024

This is Sustain’s third progress report on what we have been doing over the past year on diversity, equity, inclusion and racial justice. You can read our previous progress report from May 2023 here and December 2021 here. We are committed to publishing these reports in order to:

  • Be open and transparent about what we are doing; and be open to being challenged.
  • Keep us on track and prevent us becoming complacent or stuck in a rut.
  • Encourage momentum and participation in our sector, and to be involved in the sharing of good ideas and knowledge about how to bring about positive changes.

This second progress report provides our commitments, as well as the actions we have been taking, with regards to:

  1. Leadership for change, including good governance, senior leadership and the work of Sustain's Diversity Core Group
  2. Project and campaign leadership, a series of case studies of our diversity work through the lens of a variety of project and campaign themes over the past year
  3. Staff team skills and learning
  4. Diversity Outreach - a new initiative and staff role that we have invested in at Sustain this year
  5. Communicating and creating platforms, including accessible, inclusive and anti-racist communications; and creating platforms for diversity
  6. System change: Being bold
  7. Internal structures and development, including recruitment for diversity; HR: employment policies and practices
