Community Food Centres Canada provides ideas, information and a proven approach to partner organizations across Canada so they can establish responsive, financially stable community food centres. These centres work to bring people together to grow, cook, share experiences and campaign for good food. With partners and communities, they are working towards a healthy and fair food system. www.cfccanada.ca
Food Secure Canada
Food Secure Canada is a Canada-wide alliance of civil society organizations and individuals collaborating on policies and programs to improve food security in Canada and globally. FSC is based on three inter-connected commitments: zero hunger, a sustainable food system, and healthy and safe food. www.foodsecurecanada.org
Local Food Plus is a non-profit organisation that certifies farmers and processors for local sustainable food production and helps them connect with buyers of all types and sizes. http://localfoodplus.ca/
People's Food Policy
The People's Food Policy is a food movement-led initiative that came together to develop a national food policy for Canada based on the principles of food sovereignty. Grounded in ten policy discussion papers on themes ranging from agriculture, fisheries, the environment, health, and science and technology policy, the People's Food Policy is the most comprehensive food policy being advanced in Canada today. www.peoplesfoodpolicy.ca
As of 2009, Sustain has a “sister” alliance food and farming organisations in Ontario, Canada, called Sustain Ontario: the alliance for healthy food and farming.
