A chance for veg growers to go pro

Budding growers in Greater Manchester are invited to apply for the Kindling Trust's FarmStart programme this autumn, a great opportunity to spend a year training part-time in commercial organic veg growing, alongside work.

FarmStart, run by Sustain member the Kindling Trust, is a supported route into commercial vegetable growing in Greater Manchester. The programme is run at Woodbank Nursery, an urban horticulture hub that is home to a mix of commercial and community growing projects. FarmStart offers an opportunity for keen amateur growers to build up both horticulture and business skills, and experiment with growing on a commercial scale.

Applications are open each autumn,  with this year's deadline 12th November. You can find more information here. If you are interested in applying, email farmStart@kindling.org.uk.
