Restaurant-goers pledge to ask for ethical food
The Sustainable Restaurant Association is calling on restaurant-goers to #MakeFoodGood by pledging to taking one action when eating out, such as asking if the fish is sustainably sourced or checking where their tip goes.
As the SRA explains, "Food Made Good is for everyone who gives a fork about where the food on their plate is from and doesn't want to leave their principles at home when they dine out."
SRA President, chef Raymond Blanc OBE said, “I pledge to tell all my chef friends to choose their ingredients grown as close to their restaurant as possible.”
Thomasina Miers, Founder of the Mexican restaurant chain Wahaca: “I pledge to always ask for a doggy bag if there is food leftover on our plates.”
Restaurant-goers can join in by doing the following:
- Choose a pledge at: www.foodmadegood.org, or write your own
- Write it on a napkin
- Take a selfie with you and your pledge
- Tweet / post on Facebook / Instagram it using #MakeFoodGood
- Encourage others to follow suit!
