Pressure for an inclusive Good Food Nation Bill

Nourish Scotland are crowdfunding to get producers views heard in upcoming Good Food Nation Bill.

Nourish Scotland, who are members of Sustain, asked the Scottish Government how they were going to make sure everyone's voices were heard in developing the Good Food Nation Bill, which begins consultation before the end of 2017. Nourish Scotland were unsatisfied with the government’s response and are now launching a crowdfunder to involve as many people as possible in shaping the Good Food Nation Bill - particularly those people most affected by the injustices of our current food system.

Nourish Scotland say,

“The Good Food Nation Bill is recognition that legislation is necessary to deliver a food system that is fit for purpose in Scotland. Food is central to many of the issues we care about – social justice, health, the environment, and the economy. However, until now there has been little involvement from Government, or opportunities for civil society to participate, in making big decisions about how the food system works.”

They are also asking people to write to their MSP and are supporting Scottish Food Coalition’s whole day gathering in Edinburgh on the 23rd November.
