Celebrating 20 years of GM free food

A Big Gene Gathering is taking place in December to celebrate 20 years of successful work by anti-GM activists.

In 1997 the anti-GM food campaign came together to prevent Monsanto GM soya appearing on British plates. After five years of frenetic campaigning by groups - including Sustain member GM Freeze - trials in GM crops stopped and our food has largely been free of GM food ever since.

The Big Gene Gathering +20 will be held in central London on 2nd and 3rd December. It will include two days of talks explaining how to win on food and environmental issues and how to keep going after the initial excitement has faded. There will be speakers from GM Freeze, Genetic Engineering Network, Beyond GM, GM Watch, Biofuel Watch, Econexus, Breaking the Frame, Human Genetics Alert and others.

For more information, contact info@breakingtheframe.org.uk, or visit Breaking the Frame.

The event is free, but places are limited so please book in advance.
