The Pasture-Fed Livestock Association is recruiting a CEO

The non-profit organisation that promotes exclusive grazing for ruminants has grown from nothing, mainly on goodwill, over the past five years, and now wants help to expand and become self-financing.

The Pasture-Fed Livestock Association promotes the raising of ruminant livestock exclusively on grazed and conserved pasture and forage. It is a membership organisation of farmers and butchers, which aims to build the market for certified Pasture for Life beef, lamb and milk.

Since it was established as a not-for-profit community interest company in 2011, the PFLA has developed the registered Pasture for Life Certification Mark, and built a membership of more than 250, mostly farmers. Its success so far has been due in large part to the commitment and effort of its volunteer farmer directors and members. To expand its work, it has now secured funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation to enable it to recruit a part-time Chief Executive, with the objective of making the organisation self-financing by the end of 2018.
