Anyone have a spare polytunnel?

New plots, building plans and an impending share offer: the Ecological Land Co-operative (ELC) is busy, and looking for help.

The organisation is creating and supporting affordable smallholdings and has submitted a planning application for three plots at its new site in Arlington, East Sussex.

Meanwhile, the growers at Greenham Reach smallholdings in Devon are in need of  assistance, in the form of recycled materials and volunteers, specifically:

  • A secondhand polytunnel - 40 sq metre or bigger
  • A secondhand greenhouse - any size
  • Anybody with knowledge of ecological building techniques/paints/finishes, who can advise on what to use in a kitchen space / processing room
  • Re-cycled commercial-style kitchen fixtures and fittings
  • Volunteer help with communal building projects (accommodation can be provided).
The Co-operative is also about to launch a new share offer to help fund its work.

If you can help with any of the above, or would like more information, check out the ELC website here.
