Economic change for Southeast Asia

A new ten-nation single market ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Economic Community will be established by the end of 2015.

This new single market could mean major economic change for the ten nations, Brunei Darussalam, Lao, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines and Singapore as well as having an impact on the EU. The union will establish  a single market and production base, free movement of goods and workers and also plans to establish harmonised safety standards - all changes that could have a major effect on the global food industry.
