Funding available to Sustainable Food Cities network members

Grants to support Sustainable Food City Coordinators, and to help with campaigning work on the Sugar Smart initiative, are now open for applications.

The national Sustainable Food Cities (SFC) network helps to develop cross-sector partnerships of local public agencies, businesses, academics and NGOs, who work together to make healthy and sustainable food a defining characteristic of where they live.

As part of Phase Two of the project, two sets of grants are now being made, and are  open for applications. Around 30 Coordinator Grants, of up to £10,000 each, are available to help with the employment of a Sustainable Food Cities Coordinator. These grants will need to be at least equally match-funded to provide SFC coordinator time.

In addition, Campaigns Grants of up to £5,000 are available, to support Local Food Partnerships to take part in SFC's annual thematic campaigns, the first of which is Sugar Smart. Again, match funding is strongly encouraged.

It is important to note that these grants are only available to members of the Sustainable Food Cities network. The deadline for submitting applications is 5pm on 20 February 2017. Find more details here.
