Huge success for UK-based group the Organic Trade Board

The outfit that promotes organic production and consumption in the UK has won a share of a fund worth more than €10 million to continue and expand its work.

Despite its official-sounding title, the Organic Trade Board (OTB) is a (hitherto small) not-for-profit organisation whose mission is to grow organic sales in the UK. It is also a Sustain member, so we are very proud to announce that in partnership with Organic Denmark it has been successful in a funding application to the EU to promote the organic food and drink sector. OTB will manage the fund on behalf of both countries, amounting to €10.4 million over three years.

The OTB campaign will focus on growing retail sales, increasing employment in organic agriculture and raising awareness of the benefits of organic food and drink, wth 70% of the fund to be spent in the UK.
