On Thursday 3 March from 4-6pm, Capital Growth will be hosting its first in-person event of 2022 as part of our Spotlight Garden programmeGROW, an urban farm in Barnet, is opening its farm gate to urban growers, local decision makers and schools to provide the chance to explore this inspiring farm which has education and young people at its heart.

This is not only a opportunity to visit the impressive 6-acre London urban farm, located in the Totteridge Academy’s school grounds in Barnet, but also to follow a panel discussion on how London’s schools and peri-urban farms can build closer relationships. Speakers will include GROW's Farm and Outdoor Learning Director, Sarah Alun-Jones and The Totteridge Academy's business manager and head chef.

The farm is run by GROW, in partnership with The Totteridge Academy, and its produce is used in the school’s canteen to provide healthy meals for the school children. GROW also runs educational programmes for young people from the academy and other local schools.

At the event, we’ll have a chance to hear about the relationship between the farm and the school and why it works so well, as well as the project's lessons learned so far. We’ll also get to hear about their future plans.

The event will take place at GROW and The Totteridge Academy on Barnet Lane, London N20 8AZ.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to meet some of the Capital Growth team and get inspired by an incredible local project!
