Food industry invests in diet-related research

Fourteen leading food and drink companies have formed a partnership to fund diet and health research.

DRINC (the Diet and Health Research Industry Club) was established in 2008 and has announced a new call for research proposals. These will provide research funding from companies like Nestle, Coca-Cola, Unilever, PepsiCo and Danone to a BBSRC (the Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council) led partnership with support from other government research councils.
