London 'Food Heroes' wanted

Fareshare needs weekend volunteers in the East End of London

Fareshare, the charity that collects unsold food that would otherwise be wasted and distributes it to charities and community groups, is looking for 'food heroes' -- weekend volunteers willing to work in its warehouse in Deptford, east London.

Volunteers will work as part of a team, helping to sort donated food and prepare the warehouse for the week ahead. They can sign up for morning or afternoon shifts, on an ad hoc or regular basis.

In the past, volunteers have only been needed on weekdays -- the extension is partly a response to expanding need for the charity's services, and partly to meet requests from volunteers who said they were only free at weekends.
