Food label by ijclark

In a country with a rising obesity problem, more and more people are trying to eat healthily. With the huge variety of foods available, it’s especially important that people are easily able to work out what is in the food they eat, and how healthy it is.

A simple and consistent system of food labelling would enable people – including children – to make healthy choices easily. Unfortunately, that’s not what we’ve got. A number of different nutrition labelling schemes are in existence, making it difficult for consumers to compare products and make informed decisions about what they’re buying.

We’re calling for all companies to adopt a consistent form of colour-coded front of pack labelling which will allow people to see at a glance what’s in the food they’re buying, and will be a good way of helping children to understand how to make healthy choices.
