A great way to tap into the sustainable food system is through learning and events. If you are (or know young people) aged 18-35 who want to learn more then they should get down to the third annual Emergent Generation Summer Gathering from Thursday 12 - Saturday 14 September 2024 on Conygree Farm, Aldsworth, Gloucestershire, GL54 3PW.

The event is focused on developing skills and knowledge to build a regenerative future, through workshops, talks, activities and networks. You can explore the programme for a breakdown of the event including speakers' profiles, accommodation, and travel options.

Sessions include practical workshops from Sue Pritchard, Chief Executive at the FFCC and Russ Carrington, Regenerative farming coach and mentor, a session on diversifying your network with farm vet Navaratnam Partheeban OBE who co-founded the British Veterinary Ethnicity and Diversity Society, a screening of Six Inches of Soil, and farm walk with Emergent Generation's Jonty Brunyee

Other activities include exploring the Soil Mentor appowl conservation project, dry stone walling, yoga, and a visit to nearby agroecological farm, The Sandy Hill Mob.

Anyone aged 18 to 35 who is passionate about agroecology is welcome! Attendees typically range from those involved in farming, land management and food policy, as well as researchers, students, activists and anyone else who is passionate or experienced in this area.

To attend the event get tickets from Emergent Generation starting at £55 plus camping (optional).

Roots to Work: Roots to Work is a platform for people to advertise and find jobs in the field of good food. We noticed there wasn’t a unique gathering place for good food opportunities to all sit together and felt it was time to make it happen in the UK.
