Sutton Council takes Sustainable Fish Cities pledge

The London Borough of Sutton has become the latest local authority to commit to 100% demonstrably sustainable fish for primary school meals.

Sutton's pledge will affect 1.5 million meals served in the Boroughs' schools per year, and will ensure that pupils can choose fish safe in the knowledge that they are supporting a sustainable future for the world's fish stocks.

Sutton has already been awarded the Silver Food for Life award for schools, for championing fresh food and higher animal welfare standards. Their pledge develops their commitment to a more sustainable food system.

The Good Food For London report 2015, produced by Sustain, is due for release in November and will compare how well Sutton's support for good food (including fish) compares to that of other London Boroughs.
