Soil Association launches glyphosate campaign

The organisation's "Not In Our Bread" petition asks UK bread manufacturers and retailers not to use the weedkiller in their products.

Sustain member the Soil Association point out that the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) have identified glyphosate as a probable carcinogen.

Sustain's Real Bread Campaign supports The Soil Association’s anti-weedkiller initiative. Chris Young, of Sustain's Real Bread Campaign commented "We also urge farmers to stop spraying bread wheat with glyphosate, millers to reject grain that has been sprayed and bakers only to accept flour if the miller can guarantee a glyphosate-free chain of custody"
